JaVon A. Payton

JaVon Payton is an associate in the Newport Beach office of Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara LLP. In 2011, Ms. Payton graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Minor in Spanish. In 2015, Ms. Payton earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence as a Dean’s Scholar at Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ms. Payton’s passion for family law started early during her law school career. As Authorities Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, Ms. Payton conducted complex research to uncover proposed solutions for American women who are physically and emotionally forced into marriage. Additionally, Ms. Payton worked as a Certified Student Attorney at the Vanderbilt Family Law and Domestic Violence Clinic and handled multiple cases involving domestic violence, paternity matters, child custody and visitation, as well as child support issues.

Ms. Payton is actively involved in the community by volunteering as a judge for the American Collegiate Moot Court Association and participating as a member of the First Amendment Scholar’s Program at California State University, Long Beach. During her free time, Ms. Payton enjoys reading, cooking, and do-it-yourself projects.
