A partner with Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara LLP, Ms. Tickner has extensive experience in handling complex civil litigation matters including product defect, class actions and cases involving hundreds of plaintiffs with millions of dollars at stake. She handles a broad variety of civil litigation matters including labor/employment, environmental/toxic tort, construction defect, catastrophic personal injury, and general business litigation, while also tailoring her practice towards the corporate, labor/employment, and general business legal needs of her various clientele. Ms. Tickner is the head of the firm’s labor and employment department and also heads up the environmental/toxic tort department as well.
Ms. Tickner also employs her comprehensive knowledge of procedural law and law and motion to mentor new associates in writing technique and style as well as oral argument and trial technique. Outside of the firm, Ms. Tickner is widely recognized as one of the top trial advocates in the state and has also been honored with the selective distinction of being the recipient of the Trial Gladiator Award from Farmers Insurance.
During law school at the University of La Verne, Ms. Tickner received American Jurisprudence Awards for Torts and for Appellate Advocacy, and received an invitation to join the Law Review. Ms. Tickner served as the Vice Dean of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and also clerked at the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Second Division for then Associate Justice Robert J. Timlin (now Federal Justice Timlin). Ms. Tickner graduated 4th in her class, with honors.
Ms. Tickner is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California and the U.S. District Court, Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Tickner is a Barrister of the prestigious Banyard Inn of Court and a member of the American Bar Association.
Ms. Tickner was recently the subject of a profile article by the prestigious legal publication the Los Angeles Daily Journal. She is also a contributing author to the NBI Employment Law: 2014 Comprehensive Guide, and also presents as a panel speaker for MCLE seminars on all variety of employment law matters.
Outside of her law practice, Ms. Tickner competes in open ocean 6-man outrigger canoe racing, trail running, and also enjoys her boxing workout.
