Dan Butler is an Associate Attorney in the Newport Beach office of Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara LLP. Mr. Butler attended the University of Michigan (2011, B.A.) and the Syracuse University College of Law (2014). Mr. Butler graduated cum laude from Syracuse Law, was a member of the Justinian Honor Society, an associate editor of the Journal of International Law and Commerce, and earned a CALI award in Legal Writing.
In 2014 and 2015, Mr. Butler worked in Syracuse, New York for the Northern District of New York’s asset forfeiture collection team, assisting in the prosecution of civil forfeiture cases. Thereafter, Mr. Butler, a born-and-raised New Yorker, practiced in New York City from 2016-2021 before moving to California with his family. Mr. Butler defended construction companies and property owners from personal injury claims and defended attorneys facing professional liability lawsuits, in addition to general liability defense. He is currently licensed in both New York and California and is admitted federally in New York (Southern District). Mr. Butler also has experience practicing before the First Department and Second Department (appellate divisions) in New York.
Mr. Butler has authored articles published in the Professional Liability Defense Federation’s quarterly publications, in addition to other insurance publications. Mr. Butler was also a Super Lawyers – Rising Star in 2020 and 2021 in New York City for construction litigation and insurance coverage.
In his free time, Mr. Butler likes to play golf and spend time with his family.
