Marquiel Cade is a first-generation college student and first-generation law student from a single-parent household. He is the oldest of five children on his mom’s side and six children on his father’s side. Born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, the military was always a big part of Mr. Cade’s life, but so was Duke basketball. Therefore, it was either Duke or the military for him, ultimately, Mr. Cade chose Duke. Though he wasn’t able to receive a basketball scholarship, Mr. Cade was able to rely on his mind instead. He always strived to set a good example for his younger siblings and inspire them and show them that they could accomplish anything they set their minds to. After Mr. Cade’s undergraduate studies, he attended Charlotte School of Law before it was closed down and was forced to restart and finish his legal education at DU Sturm College of Law. During Mr. Cade’s law school years, he had the honor of gaining experience from an established law firm and the Hon. S. Kato Crews, a federal magistrate Judge with the U.S. District Court of Colorado.
In Mr. Cade’s spare time, he writes, records, and releases music on major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. He’s written two novels: Love, Death, Humans, and Mermaids, and Crown of Coral, both of which are available for purchase in multiple formats on Amazon.
