Nancy McPherson is an associate attorney working out of Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara’s Walnut Creek, California office. Ms. McPherson earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1980, and her Juris Doctor Degree from Western New England College, 1983. She was admitted to Pennsylvania Bar in 1983, California Bar in 1987, and North Carolina Bar in 2010.
Ms. McPherson’s career began as an appellate court clerk for the Honorable Joseph A. Del Sole (P.J. for the Appellate Court – Superior Court of PA). Her practice emphasizes defense in significant personal injury, property damage, complex construction defect litigation, construction injury, and landlord-tenant cases. She has also handled large personal injury matters for plaintiffs. Ms. McPherson has also practiced extensively in defense of public entities, including local municipalities, sanitary districts, housing authorities, cities, and school districts. She has represented public entities in matters related to inverse condemnation and nuisance, landslides, overflow claims, dangerous conditions, collection and contract disputes. The cases handled involve injunctive relief, as well as personal injury and property damage claims. Her practice also includes jury trials and arbitrations in Superior Court actions, including seven jury trials to verdict, and briefing in the California Court of Appeal. Ms. McPherson obtained a seven-minute defense verdict for her client in her first jury trial. She also acted as a mediator for the Contra Costa, Solano and Alameda County Superior Courts. Her mediation training included the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution Program through Pepperdine University.
Ms. McPherson is an avid sports fan, particularly following the Pittsburgh sports teams. She also plays tennis and golf and is a seamstress by hobby. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and son-in-law, as well as their two granddaughters.
