Ms. Boyd began her professional career as a Registered Nurse, primarily in critical care areas including the Emergency Department at hospitals throughout the country. Ms. Boyd also served as a Nursing Supervisor in charge of Medication Distribution at the Indiana State Prison, a 2500-inmate all-male maximum security institution with disciplinary units and Death Row. Ms. Boyd ran trauma and other emergency calls to all areas of the prison and taught OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen classes to the prison staff. She is licensed to practice nursing in California and integrates her knowledge and experience into her law practice.
Ms. Boyd then turned her attention to law school where she excelled. Teresa was a Comments Editor for the USD Law Review. Several students were published under her guidance. Ms. Boyd was also published in the USD Journal of Contemporary Issues. She graduated Cum Laude and received the prestigious Order of the Coif award. Most importantly, Ms. Boyd accomplished these honors while being a mother of three sons, and the wife of an award-winning architect.
Ms. Boyd’s sons grew to be fine men. Her oldest served in the USMC. He now works on the California wildfires, along with her youngest son, who is also an accomplished musician. Her second son works in the private sector in event planning and the service industry. Ms. Boyd also has three dogs: Dirty Henry, a mini-Schnauzer; Max, a Klee Kai Husky; and the newest addition to the family, Butters, a Basset Hound puppy.
