Mr. Kristoffer Wathne is an associate attorney in Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP’s Denver, Colorado office. He was a cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and on the Dean’s List for all available years. He was also on the Dean’s List while an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota. While in law school, Mr. Wathne won his legal writing section’s best brief award during 1L year, was a judicial extern for a federal magistrate judge, worked at various law firms across Minneapolis, and qualified for the National Moot Court Tournament as a member of the University of Minnesota’s National Moot Court Competition Team.
Since becoming licensed, Mr. Wathne has gained experience in general civil litigation and has worked on various transactional matters as well. He has represented both individuals and entities in state and federal court, as well as arbitration. In this capacity, Mr. Wathne has represented clients in a wide variety of cases, including construction defect, breach of contract, premise liability, fraud, claims under the Colorado Consumer Protection Act, real estate disputes, general negligence, and vicarious liability. Mr. Wathne has successfully briefed and argued multiple motions to dismiss, discovery disputes, and other key motions striking and/or limiting expert testimony and claimed damages. This is in addition to successfully leading mediations and/or settlement negotiations on behalf of his clients in state and federal court, as well as arbitration matters.
Mr. Wathne has also successfully negotiated and drafted real estate purchase and financing agreements, commercial lease agreements, asset purchase agreements, corporate resolutions, operating agreements, and has otherwise counseled business owners across multiple industries regarding their legal interests. Mr. Wathne maintains a broad practice and can counsel individuals and businesses on a myriad of legal issues.
Mr. Wathne grew up in the Midwest (born and raised in North Dakota, and lived in Minnesota for several years). He is a big sports fan and loves watching football, basketball, hockey, and baseball. He also enjoys spending time in the mountains hiking and/or skiing and spending time with friends and family.
