Meet Andrew! Andrew was born in La Crescenta, California. Andrew’s family has an extensive history in the legal field. Both his mother and father are lawyers, as was his grandfather and approximately ten aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Andrew got his start in the legal field when he was 22 years old, interning at the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office in Reno, Nevada, after graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno. After law school, Andrew worked under a public defense contract in Douglas County, Nevada, and did both criminal defense and family law before starting with Bremer, Whyte, Brown & O’Meara in 2020.
Andrew works in the Reno office, but also passed the California bar exam in 2023. He now works on cases all over California and Nevada.
Andrew was married to his wife, Amanda Bunn, in October of 2023. They are expecting their first child at the end of December, 2024.
Q: Was there a defining moment when you decided you wanted to pursue a career in the legal field? If yes, please tell us about it.
A: I have been interested in the legal field for as long as I can remember. Even in preschool I had teachers telling me I was going to be a lawyer one day.
Q: How have you evolved either professionally or personally since joining Bremer Whyte’s team?
A: I have evolved both professionally and personally since joining the BWB&O team. My confidence level has skyrocketed, and I am much more of a team player than I was when I first started. I am much better at being able to handle a larger workload and ultimately feel like I can much more zealously advocate for clients. I largely attribute this to my supervising partner and mentor, Karen Baytosh.
Q: How do you typically approach problem solving?
A: With problem solving, my first step is always to take a deep breath, take a step back, and try to see how the problem fits into a bigger picture. Then I identify what needs to be done to achieve the goal, who needs to do it, and when, and then work my best to execute the plan/work with other people to collectively solve the problem.
Q: How do you decompress from work? Do you have any hobbies or creative outlets?
A: My biggest stress relief is running. I try to run four days a week. It allows me to channel any negative energy and turn it into something positive. Aside from running, I am an avid sports fan. My wife agreed to let me have a separate sports TV in our living room, where I can have a game on any time I am relaxing.
A special thank you to Andrew for sharing his experience with us!
