John P. Shannon is an associate with the firm in its Las Vegas, Nevada office.
John attended Loyola College, now Loyola University, in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in History in 1995. In 1999, John received a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey.
Following law school, John relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he clerked for Hon. Ron Parraguirre in the Eighth Judicial District Court. John has been licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in New Jersey since 1999 and Nevada since 2001.
John has over twenty-four years’ experience as both a plaintiff’s counsel and defense counsel in a range of civil cases, including personal and commercial automobile cases, premises liability cases, uninsured and underinsured motorists (UM/UIM) disputes, first-party and third-party bad faith cases, real estate disputes, eminent domain and takings actions, and broker/agent negligence cases. He has tried twenty-five bench and jury trials, evidentiary and preliminary injunction hearings, as well as taken appeals to the Nevada Court of Appeals and writs to the Nevada Supreme Court.
John is married with three children, two Golden Retrievers, and enjoys spending time with his family or playing guitar when he is not in the office.
