Michael D. Maupin

Michael Maupin graduated with an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Nevada, Reno and taught in Northern Nevada schools for fifteen years before leaving the teaching profession and going to law school at the Boyd School of Law, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Prior to entering into private practice Michael clerked for the Honorable Lynn Jones in Nevada’s Second Judicial District Court. In more than 10 years practicing law Michael has managed a wide array of civil litigation cases including in the areas of tort and premises liability, commercial, real estate, contract, common interest associations, construction, as well as representing diverse entities including two separate charter schools in tort and contract disputes.  Michael has successfully litigated fraud, breach of contract, qualified immunity, and waiver of liability matters among many others.  Michael has practiced in Nevada state, federal, and bankruptcy courts as well as Nevada state and federal appellate courts.

In his free time Michael has volunteered extensively in community theater including serving as board member, counsel, actor in lead and supporting roles, technical assignments, stage manager, assistant director, and director in six local theater companies and two public schools.  In managing the Galena High School theater program, Michael directed 18 plays and produced multiple school benefit events.
