Scott Hoy was born and raised in Orange County, CA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Long Beach State University with a major in Criminal Justice. After moving to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law, he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree and clerked for the San Diego Superior Court until being recruited by a high-profile plaintiff’s attorney for whom he worked for several years.
Finding his niche in civil litigation, Mr. Hoy formed his own civil litigation firm with a couple of friends where they represented both plaintiffs and defendants for over 10 years, specializing in employment law, discrimination and civil rights litigation, business and contract disputes, personal injury/tort, as well as civil appeals and writs. Seeking a change of pace, Mr. Hoy transitioned into public entity and municipal defense litigation with an emphasis in dangerous condition of public property claims and constitutional claims involving police actions, including excessive force, due process, unreasonable search and seizure, and wrongful death. After arriving at Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP in 2019, Mr. Hoy has enjoyed defending individuals and businesses alike in a variety of legal actions, including personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, construction defect, negligence, business disputes, and other insurance-based case assignments.
In his free time, Mr. Hoy loves the outdoors and spending time with his two beautiful daughters.
