Sultan Alshawa is an associate attorney in Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Alshawa’s practice focuses on general liability defense.
Mr. Alshawa received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, where he graduated magna cum laude.
At Southwestern Law School, Mr. Alshawa held the position of lead articles editor for the Southwestern Journal of International Law. He also filled several teaching assistant positions and was a volunteer instructor for the Street Law Clinic, teaching legal education to at-risk youth.
Prior to joining BWB&O, Mr. Alshawa practiced civil defense litigation at a preeminent Los Angeles law firm, primarily focusing on automobile and premises liability claims and representing public entities in dangerous condition of public property claims, while occasionally defending matters involving design professionals such as architects and engineers.
In addition, Mr. Alshawa was a fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) Fellowship program, where he had the opportunity to clerk for The Honorable Ruth Ann Kwan, Michael L. Stern, and Susan Bryant-Deason of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Mr. Alshawa is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and the Arab American Lawyers Association of Southern California (AALASC).
