Lea E. Gierut is an Associate Attorney at Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP.
Ms. Gierut received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Political Science with a Minor in Business with Honors from California State University, Sacramento, in 2018, where she interned for Dr. Richard Pan during his tenure in the California legislature. Ms. Gierut earned her Juris Doctor from LMU Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, graduating in the top 20% of her class. During law school, she served as Senior Note and Comment Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review, President of the Women’s Law Association, and was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
Ms. Gierut’s academic pursuits were accompanied by distinguished practical experience, including a judicial externship with the Honorable R. Gary Klausner of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and an externship at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. She also served as a Certified Law Student at the Juvenile Innocence & Fair Sentencing Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in resentencing and parole proceedings and successfully argued before the California Court of Appeals.
Following her admission to the California Bar in 2022, Ms. Gierut spent three years at large international law firms, where she developed a broad commercial litigation practice spanning false advertising, product liability, contract disputes, and private wealth and fiduciary duty litigation. In addition to her litigation work, Ms. Gierut has gained valuable employment law experience, including defending clients in employment litigation, conducting employment-related due diligence in connection with major mergers and acquisitions, and drafting and reviewing employee handbooks and workplace policies. Throughout her career, Ms. Gierut has worked closely with private clients, in-house counsel, and internal client teams, giving her a firsthand understanding of the legal, operational, and business considerations that drive corporate decision-making. She approaches each matter with a business-minded perspective, focusing not only on achieving favorable legal outcomes but on understanding the broader operational and strategic goals of her clients, and is committed to providing pragmatic, solutions-oriented counsel that aligns legal strategy with business objectives.
A proud Orange County native, Ms. Gierut maintains a deep commitment to the Southern California community through pro bono work and public interest advocacy. Outside of the office, she can be found exploring the coastlines and trails of Southern California, reflecting the same passion for the natural world that has grounded her throughout her career.
